Jim Barth is the grand old man of the Rhea Heritage Preservation Foundation board of directors. He and his wife, Judy, live in Dayton and have five children, 21 children and 10 great-grandchildren. He is a retired farmer and advancement officer at Bryan College, his alma mater.

Jim continues to be a man of business, operating with Judy, Barth Health Concepts, a homebased health and nutrition business, for the past 47 years.

“We have had the privilege of helping scores of people regain their health and many hundreds more maintain their health,” he said

Jim remains active in the community volunteering with Bryan College, MainStreet Dayton and the Rhea County Historical Sidewalk Timeline.

“Most importantly, we have served the Lord at Grace Bible Church for the last 37 years,” Jim said.

He joined Rhea Heritage Foundation to “promote the mission of Bryan College and the legacy of the Scopes Trial that the Bible and science agree that parents should have control through their school boards what is being taught in the public schools.”

Jim enjoys volunteering at the Scopes Trial Play and said it gives him an opportunity to help keep a national focus on the Bible/science issue and parents’ control of education.
