Trial atmosphere: The trial was festive, with over 600 spectators in the courtroom and more than 1,000 on the courthouse lawn.

The telegraph trial: Thousands of miles of telegraph wire were strung between Dayton, TN, and Chattanooga, Twenty-two temporary telegraphists were hired to work the wires, and they transmitted more than 2 million words about the trial. For more information, visit Scopes100.com.
